IntraLaunch is primarily designed for corporate Intranets using Win32 workstations (95/NT) which need to use a web browser such as IE4 to present menus to their end users or employees. It allows HTML links to execute anything from .EXE's to associations such as .DOC's both locally and across the network.

A scaled down version for Linux or Unix/x86 is also available for free.

If you've installed any software from this PowerDisc, you've already seen IntraLaunch in action. We use it to launch the setup executables from the disk. For a more extensive demo, click the install button at the bottom of this page. This will copy the IntraLaunch sample files to your hard-dirve. You'll see IntraLaunch is a tool which allows IT professionals to easily build, simple, secure, easy to use, web based menuing interfaces for their Intranets and the employees that use them. In turn raising productivity and ultimately increasing the return on investment for an Intranet.

IntraLaunch can open and launch such programs as:

(.EXE) Both 16-Bit and 32-Bit .EXE files for Windows 3.1, Windows95, and WindowNT.
(.COM) Command files for DOS. The operating system would open a DOS window and execute the command automatically, supporting legacy programs such as WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS.
(.BAT) DOS batch files for. The operating system would open also a DOS window and execute the batch file automatically.
(.PIF) Program Information Files for older DOS programs to run under Windows3.1. These .PIFs can be launched and the resulting program executed.
(.LNK) Can run 32 bit link files, otherwise known as 'shortcuts'. Much like .PIFs above but can do more such as associations below(next point).
(.???) Any file thats not even actually a program can be run. Through Windows95/NT file associations, you could execute say a .DOC file and Intralaunch would automatically have the OS run Word(or the associated program) and then load the document for you. Works for any kind of association or extention(.GIF,.PDF, .WAV, .TXT, etc.). This is very beneficial for document sharing.
((Other)) Can open special folders such as the Printers Folder, Control Panel Folder, Network Neighborhood, Recycle Bin, My Compter and more. See FAQ.

Plus the ability exists to specify default directories, securely password protect menu items, shutdown the computer, attaching sound events, and pass parameters to the program being opened. Programs or documents can even be held on the server if the server supports SAMBA(File & Printer Sharing). IntraLaunch will execute the prorgam across the network with UNC Paths such as \\SERVER\path\document.wri. Applications and Documents can also now be executed over HTTP - such as http://wherever.com/program.exe.

IntraLaunch can also make a graphic act as a normal HTML graphic link. This provides the ability to password protect individual HTML links. For example, you could password protect a link to http://intranet.net/secure/menu.html. Or maybe attach a sound event to it also.
